We are looking for an experienced and passionate English Language Tutor to provide remote tutoring to students within the US K-12 curriculum. This role requires a strong grasp of English language arts, including reading comprehension, writing, and grammar. The ideal candidate will excel at fostering a love for literature and language in students, while also developing their critical thinking and communication skills. The position offers flexible hours that align with US-based time zones.

Responsibilities:
- Tutor students in English Language Arts for grades K-12, following the US curriculum standards.
- Provide instruction in reading comprehension, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and literary analysis as per grade requirements.
- Adapt teaching methods to support individual learning needs, strengths, and weaknesses.
- Create tailored lesson plans, assignments, and exercises to improve reading, writing, and critical thinking skills.
- Conduct one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions, ensuring a supportive and engaging environment.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing actionable feedback for improvement.
- Engage with parents, guardians, or supervisors to discuss progress and address any concerns.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field (required); teaching certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience teaching or tutoring English language within the US K-12 curriculum.
- Strong understanding of US educational standards in English Language Arts.
- Excellent communication skills with clear, articulate delivery.
- Proficiency in virtual teaching tools and platforms (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.).
- Availability to work during US time zones.
- Reliable internet connection, computer, and PenTab or similar device for online instruction.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with Common Core or AP-level ELA content.
- Experience preparing students for standardized tests in ELA, including SAT/ACT (a plus).
- Strong organization and problem-solving abilities to plan and execute effective tutoring sessions.
