Job Summary:

The Plant Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the manufacturing plant. This includes managing production schedules, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, supervising staff, and optimizing processes to increase efficiency and productivity. The role demands strong leadership skills, an in-depth understanding of manufacturing processes, and the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems promptly.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Production Management:
  • Oversee daily plant operations to ensure production schedules are met.
  • Coordinate with different departments (e.g., logistics, quality control, maintenance) to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as needed.
  1. Staff Supervision:
  • Supervise and provide direction to plant workers and team leads.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching and feedback.
  • Manage staffing levels to meet production demands and maintain efficient operations.
  1. Safety and Compliance:
  • Ensure all plant operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
  • Implement and enforce safety policies and procedures.
  1. Process Optimization:
  • Identify areas for improvement in the production process to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Implement process improvements and best practices.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track plant performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  1. Quality Control:
  • Ensure products meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Address any quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with the quality control department to maintain high standards.
  1. Inventory and Resource Management:
  • Manage inventory levels to ensure materials are available for production without overstocking.
  • Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Monitor and control resource usage to minimize waste.
  1. Reporting and Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate records of production data, staff activities, and safety incidents.
  • Prepare regular reports on plant performance, including production metrics, safety compliance, and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and compliant with regulatory requirements.
