Job Overview:
The Area Sales Manager will oversee and manage sales operations in the assigned territory, driving revenue growth, expanding market presence, and fostering relationships with clients and distributors. This role requires a dynamic professional with proven sales experience, a passion for skincare and personal care products, and the ability to lead a sales team effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy and Execution
- Develop and execute sales plans to achieve and exceed territory revenue targets.
- Identify and capitalize on growth opportunities in both existing and new markets.
- Monitor and analyse sales performance metrics to optimize strategies.
Team Management
- Recruit, train, and mentor a team of sales representatives, ensuring high levels of engagement and performance.
- Set clear performance objectives and conduct regular performance evaluations.
- Foster a collaborative and motivated team culture aligned with company values.
Market Development
- Build and maintain relationships with key accounts, retailers, distributors, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct market research to understand customer needs, competitor activity, and market trends.
- Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and promotional activities to enhance brand visibility.
Operations and Reporting
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of sales performance, forecasts, and expenses to the Regional Sales Manager.
- Manage inventory levels and coordinate with supply chain teams to ensure product availability.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, pricing structures, and promotional guidelines.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in sales, with at least 2 years in a managerial role, preferably in the skincare, personal care, or FMCG industry.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Data-driven mind set with proficiency in CRM tools and sales analytics.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Other:
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
- Passion for skincare and personal care products is a plus.
