Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced FHIR Developer with a strong background in healthcare information systems and a deep understanding of HL7 FHIR standards. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing FHIR-based solutions to ensure seamless interoperability across healthcare platforms.
Qualifications:
Technical Expertise:
- Proficient in programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript.
- Strong experience with RESTful APIs and data formats like JSON and XML.
- Hands-on experience with FHIR servers and tools (e.g., HAPI FHIR, Azure FHIR, Smile CDR).
Healthcare Standards:
- In-depth knowledge of HL7 standards, including FHIR resources, profiles, and implementation guides.
- Familiarity with other healthcare standards like HL7 v2, CDA, or DICOM is a plus.
Domain Knowledge:
- Solid understanding of healthcare workflows and information systems, including EHRs and EMRs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. FHIR Development & Integration:
- Design and implement solutions leveraging FHIR APIs and resources for healthcare data exchange.
- Integrate FHIR-based solutions with existing electronic health record (EHR) systems and other healthcare platforms.
2. API Development & Management:
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs based on HL7 FHIR standards.
- Optimize API performance and scalability for real-time healthcare data exchange.
3. Custom FHIR Resource Implementation:
- Customize and extend FHIR resources to meet specific project and organizational needs.
- Define FHIR profiles and implement validation mechanisms for compliance.
4. Collaboration & Troubleshooting:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including healthcare providers, IT teams, and business stakeholders.
- Diagnose and resolve issues in FHIR implementations and ensure robust system interoperability.
5. Compliance & Security:
- Ensure adherence to healthcare industry regulations, including HIPAA and GDPR.
- Implement secure authentication and authorization protocols (OAuth2, OpenID).
6. Documentation & Training:
- Create comprehensive technical documentation for developed solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior developers and stakeholders.
Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
