Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Technology to join our product company, a pioneer in managing healthcare benefits. As the Director of Technology, you will play a crucial role in leading our technology strategy, driving innovation, and overseeing the development and delivery of our products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, and design, to ensure the successful execution of our technology initiatives.
The key facets of responsibilities will include evaluating technologies, developing proof-of-concept prototypes, designing and developing complete end-to-end products and building/managing the team. The ideal candidate should be able to mentor, guide and train other engineers. He should also be able to work with different stakeholders such as business owners, leadership and customers. Additionally, DoT should be able to mentor, guide and train other engineers.
Qualification:
Qualification Required: 4-year Bachelors OR Masters degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science
Years of experience: 9 - 14 years
Responsibility:
● Platform Design: Collaborate with stakeholders, including business leaders, product managers, and development teams, to understand the organization's needs and requirements. Design and architect the platform solution, considering factors such as scalability, performance, security, and integration capabilities.
● Technology Evaluation: Research and evaluate technology options, frameworks, and tools that can be leveraged to build the platform. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure the platform remains current and aligned with best practices.
● System Integration: Define integration strategies and patterns for integrating various systems, components, and services within the platform ecosystem. Ensure seamless data flow and interoperability between different modules and third-party systems.
● Scalability and Performance: Plan and implement strategies to ensure the platform can handle high volumes of traffic and scale effectively to meet growing demands. Optimize performance by identifying bottlenecks, monitoring system health, and implementing performance tuning measures.
● Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and leadership to development teams, architects, and engineers involved in platform development. Mentor and coach team members, promote best practices, and drive continuous improvement in platform development processes.
● Documentation and Communication: Create architectural documentation, diagrams, and guidelines to facilitate understanding and implementation of the platform architecture. Communicate complex technical concepts and architectural decisions to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
● Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, operations, and infrastructure teams, to ensure alignment and effective coordination throughout the platform development lifecycle. Engage with external stakeholders, such as vendors and partners, to integrate their solutions into the platform ecosystem.
Skills:
● Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
● Extensive experience in software development, architecture, and design, with a focus on building scalable and distributed platforms.
● Proficiency in a variety of programming languages like C#, Java, frameworks, and technologies relevant to platform development.
● Strong understanding of cloud computing, microservices architecture, API design, and service-oriented architecture (SOA) principles.
● Ability to assimilate information, updated technical know-how, and ability to think technology
● Strong knowledge of data structure, algorithms and coding
● Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
● Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with stakeholders at various levels of the organization.
● Proven experience in database technologies (SQL, NoSQL)
● Experience in front-end development frameworks (React JS, Angular, jQuery, etc.)
● Familiarity with infrastructure technologies, including virtualization, containerization, and cloud platforms.
● Experience in container-based deployments (Kubernetes)
● Strong analytical, problem solving and design skills.
● Good communication and organizational skills
