Key Responsibilities:

Website Development & Maintenance:

Develop and customize WordPress themes and plugins to meet project requirements.

Ensure websites are responsive, fast, and cross-browser compatible.

Maintain and update existing WordPress websites.

Front-End Development:

Implement designs using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern frameworks.

Work with designers to transform wireframes and mockups into functional websites.

Optimize websites for performance and SEO compliance.

Back-End Development:

Write custom PHP code for WordPress themes and plugins.

Configure and manage WordPress CMS, including custom post types and taxonomies.

Ensure database integrity and optimize queries for scalability.

Customization & Troubleshooting:

Customize and extend WordPress plugins and themes.

Troubleshoot and resolve website issues, including debugging and performance optimization.

Implement third-party integrations such as APIs and services.

Security & Compliance:

Follow best practices for WordPress security to protect against vulnerabilities.

Ensure compliance with web standards, including WCAG and GDPR as applicable.

Collaboration & Documentation:

Collaborate with team members, including designers and content creators, to achieve project goals.

Document development processes, workflows, and custom solutions.

Qualifications:

Technical Skills:

Strong experience with WordPress, including custom themes and plugins.

Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and PHP.

Familiarity with front-end frameworks like Bootstrap or Tailwind CSS.

Experience with REST APIs and AJAX for WordPress integration.

Knowledge of MySQL database management.

Familiarity with debugging tools like Chrome DevTools.

Tools & Platforms:

Experience with WordPress builders (e.g., Elementor, WPBakery, or Gutenberg).

Familiarity with hosting environments (cPanel, Plesk) and DNS management.

Proficiency with version control systems like Git.

Knowledge of website optimization tools (e.g., Lighthouse, GTmetrix).

Other Skills:

Understanding of SEO best practices.

Knowledge of web performance optimization techniques.

Familiarity with WooCommerce development (if applicable).

Experience:

2+ years of experience as a WordPress Developer.

A portfolio showcasing completed WordPress projects.

Soft Skills:

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Excellent attention to detail and ability to write clean, maintainable code.

Good communication and teamwork skills.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with page speed optimization and Core Web Vitals.

Experience in migrating websites to/from WordPress.

Knowledge of website accessibility standards (WCAG).

Certification in WordPress development or related fields is a plus.
