Key Responsibilities:

• Database Design and Management: Design, develop, and maintain relational databases, ensuring their performance, security, and scalability.
• SQL Query Writing: Write complex SQL queries for data retrieval, manipulation, and reporting, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
• Stored Procedures and Functions: Create and optimize stored procedures, triggers, and user-defined functions to automate tasks and ensure data integrity.
• Performance Tuning: Monitor, analyze, and optimize SQL queries for performance (using tools like SQL Profiler, Query Analyzer, etc.) to ensure fast and efficient data retrieval.
• Data Migration and ETL: Assist with data migration processes and support ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) workflows to move and transform data between systems.
• Troubleshooting and Support: Provide support for debugging and troubleshooting database-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and high system availability.
• Data Security: Implement best practices for data security, including user access control, encryption, and backup/restore processes.
• Collaboration: Work closely with developers, business analysts, and project managers to understand requirements and implement data solutions that support business goals.
• Reporting and Analytics: Generate reports and insights from complex data sets, leveraging SQL and reporting tools to provide actionable information to stakeholders.
• Documentation: Maintain documentation related to database design, query logic, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience: 5+ years of experience as an SQL Developer or in a similar database development role.
• SQL Proficiency: Strong experience in writing complex SQL queries, joins, subqueries, and data manipulation.
• Database Management: Experience with relational databases like SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL, including database design, normalization, and optimization.
• Performance Tuning: Ability to analyze query performance and optimize SQL queries for better performance using techniques such as indexing, query refactoring, and partitioning.
• Stored Procedures and Triggers: Strong experience in writing and optimizing stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
• ETL and Data Integration: Knowledge of data integration techniques and tools like SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) or other ETL tools.
• Data Security: Familiarity with database security practices, such as user authentication, authorization, and encryption techniques.
• Version Control: Experience using version control systems like Git or SVN to manage SQL scripts and development workflows.
• Reporting Tools: Familiarity with reporting tools (e.g., SSRS, Power BI, or similar tools) for generating and distributing business reports.
• Scripting and Automation: Basic knowledge of scripting languages like PowerShell or Python to automate database tasks and processes.
• Database Backup and Recovery: Experience in managing backup and recovery processes for disaster recovery scenarios.
• Data Warehousing: Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and how to integrate data from multiple sources is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Cloud Databases: Experience with cloud-based databases such as Azure SQL Database, Amazon RDS, or Google Cloud SQL.
• Database Certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: SQL Server, or other relevant certifications.
• Big Data: Familiarity with big data tools like Hadoop, Spark, or NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Cassandra.
• Data Modeling: Experience with data modeling techniques using tools like Erwin Data Modeler or Microsoft Visio.
• BI Tools: Knowledge of business intelligence tools like Power BI, Tableau, or QlikView for data visualization and analytics.
• Data Governance: Experience in implementing data governance and data quality practices.
