Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Lineman with at least 2 years of hands-on experience in electrical line installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. The Lineman will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical power lines, ensuring the safe distribution of electricity to homes and businesses. This role requires knowledge of electrical systems, safety protocols, and physical stamina to work in various weather conditions and potentially hazardous environments.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Installation & Maintenance:

• Install and maintain overhead and underground power lines for electricity distribution.
• Perform routine inspections of electrical lines to ensure they are functioning properly.
• Install and maintain electrical poles, transformers, insulators, and other equipment.
• Set up new electrical connections for customers, ensuring all work meets code and safety standards.

2.Repair & Troubleshooting:

• Identify and diagnose faults in electrical systems, such as power outages or damaged lines.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical lines, poles, and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Respond to emergency repair requests quickly, especially during storms or accidents.
• Test electrical systems for proper functionality after repair or installation.

3.Safety and Compliance:

• Follow all safety regulations and procedures while working on electrical systems.
• Ensure all work complies with local, state, and national electrical codes.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when working with high-voltage equipment.
• Follow lock-out/tag-out procedures to ensure the safety of the work site.

4.Team Collaboration:

• Work effectively with other linemen, electricians, and utility teams to complete projects on time.
• Assist in the training of new linemen and crew members.
• Coordinate with supervisors and project managers to ensure efficient work schedules and safety measures.

5.Documentation and Reporting:

• Keep accurate records of work performed, including repairs, installations, and inspections.
• Maintain daily logs of completed tasks and equipment used.
• Report any issues or safety hazards to supervisors promptly.

6Emergency Response:

• Be on call or respond to emergency calls to restore power during outages or disasters.
• Work under stressful and potentially hazardous conditions during emergency situations.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience as a lineman or in a related electrical field.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical systems, power distribution, and safety protocols.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to work in challenging environments, including at heights, in adverse weather conditions, and with heavy equipment.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to quickly diagnose electrical issues and implement repairs.
• Safety Awareness: In-depth knowledge of safety practices, regulations, and electrical code compliance.
• Communication Skills: Clear communication with team members, supervisors, and customers to ensure accurate understanding of tasks and issues.
• Certifications: Relevant electrical or lineman certifications and licenses, such as OSHA certifications, electrical safety training, etc. (preferred)
• Valid Driver’s License: Required to drive work vehicles to various job sites.
