Job Description
We are looking for Mechanical Quality Engineer to perform inspection on mechanical enclosures, parts, and components. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in the dimensional inspection of mechanical enclosures, CNC parts, machined parts, sheet metal fabricated parts, as well as mechanical assemblies and electronic subassemblies.
Execute dimensional inspections with help of GA drawings independently. should have experience in IS 2102 -1993 Standard General Tolerance. Should have experience in
ballooning of mechanical drawings. Basic understanding of fasteners and installation tools.
Role & Responsibilities
- Ability to read and understand mechanical assembly GA (General Assembly) drawings.
- Proficient in ballooning Mechanical Assembly GA drawings.
- Conduct dimensional inspection of mechanical enclosures and parts.
- Read and interpret mechanical assembly documents, including BOMs (Bill of Materials), assembly drawings, instructions, integration process documents, and quality process documents.
- Perform assembly of mechanical parts and electronic subassemblies, including PCB boards, connectors, and fasteners.
- Knowledge of electronic components and their assembly.
- Familiarity with fabricating sheet metal enclosures and machining components.
- Issue relevant Quality Records and, when necessary, write and send non- Conformance reports to the vendor QC Supervisor.
- Experience in root cause failure analysis techniques, CAPA (Corrective and Preventive Actions), and 8D Reports.
- Experience with surface treatment and special processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with mechanical vendors and the internal project team.
- Willingness to travel to local mechanical vendor premises for inspections and follow-ups during the fabrication process.
- Ability to handle job stress and work effectively with others in a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to carry out detailed written and oral instructions accurately.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Required Skill
- The candidate should demonstrate a strong understanding of Mechanical General Assembly·(GA) drawings, IPD (Interface Process Document), and BOM (Bill of Materials) documents.
- Ability to efficiently execute tasks as assigned with a high level of proficiency.
- General computer skills, with proficiency in using assembly tools such as Vernier Calipers, Micrometer, Digital Height Gauges, CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machines), Profile Projectors, screwdrivers, wrenches/torque wrenches, etc.
- Proficient in material handling.
Qualification & Experience
Diploma or BE in Mechanical Engineering/ Mechatronics
