Job Overview
We are hiring a Restaurant Podium Manager for THE PIANO MAN, a renowned jazz club and restaurant located in New Delhi, India. As a Podium Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the front-of-house operations and providing exceptional customer service to our guests. This is a full-time position requiring 4 to 6 years of experience in a similar role.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience as a Podium Manager or in a similar role in the restaurant industry
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
- Customer-oriented mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional service
- Proficient in using reservation management software
- Knowledge of cash handling and POS systems
- Familiarity with food safety and hygiene regulations
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage the restaurant's front desk operations, including welcoming and seating guests
- Ensure smooth and efficient flow of guests, managing waitlists, and coordinating with the waiting staff
- Provide excellent customer service by promptly attending to guest inquiries, requests, and complaints
- Maintain a clean and organized podium area, including managing reservations and maintaining guest records
- Assist in training and supervising podium staff to ensure a high level of professionalism and service
- Coordinate with the kitchen and waiting staff to ensure accurate wait times and efficient table turnover
- Handle cash transactions, credit card payments, and maintain accurate records
- Collaborate with the management team to implement new procedures and enhance guest satisfaction
- Monitor and evaluate podium performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions
- Stay updated with industry trends and competitors' offerings to provide recommendations for improvement
