Position: Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

Design and Development: Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings of furniture components and assemblies using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.

Product Innovation: Collaborate with the design and production teams to develop new and innovative furniture designs that align with market trends and customer needs.

Technical Specifications: Generate accurate technical documentation, including assembly instructions, bill of materials (BOM), and production drawings.

Prototyping and Testing: Work closely with the prototyping team to develop and test prototypes, ensuring design feasibility and functionality.

Material Selection: Assist in selecting appropriate materials and finishes that meet both aesthetic and functional requirements.

Collaboration: Liaise with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, procurement, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless production processes.

Quality Assurance: Ensure that all designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality control protocols.

Continuous Improvement: Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce production costs.

Project Management: Manage design projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project timelines and budgets.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.

Software Proficiency:  Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks for 3D modeling and simulation.

Strong knowledge of AutoCAD for 2D drafting and layout design.

Industry Experience: Minimum of [X] years of experience in the furniture manufacturing industry or a related field.

Technical Skills: Understanding of manufacturing processes, including CNC machining, woodwork, metal fabrication, and upholstery.

Knowledge of material properties and their application in furniture design.

Familiarity with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) principles.

Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.

Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment, as well as independently.

Creativity: Strong creative and aesthetic sensibility, with an understanding of current design trends in the furniture industry.

Project Management: Experience in managing multiple design projects simultaneously, with a focus on meeting deadlines and achieving goals.
