Job Title: Cloud Administrator

Job Overview:
The cloud Administrator will be responsible for providing second-level technical support for the organization's hardware and software. Candidate must have good knowledge of VMware, Windows and Intel-based (Wintel) servers. The role involves troubleshooting, managing, and resolving system-related issues, ensuring high availability, and optimizing server performance. The engineer will collaborate with other cross-functional teams to maintain a stable infrastructure and provide escalation support for more complex issues that cannot be resolved at the L1 level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide L2 support for VMware, Windows Server infrastructure, addressing system issues, failures, and performance degradation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents and service requests related to VMware product suit (ESXi 7.0 & 8.0, vCenter, vrealize automation, vrealize logs, vrealize operation manager, vSAN), Windows servers (2012/2016/2019/2022) and associated services.
- Manage and maintain Active Directory (AD) infrastructure, including user accounts, group policies, and domain services.
- Perform regular system monitoring, patching, and updates to ensure VMware\ Windows environments remain secure and compliant.
- Handle system administration tasks such as server configuration, software installations, and disk management.
- Analyze and resolve incidents escalated by L1 support, ensuring timely resolution and minimal service disruption.
- Work closely with the L3 team to escalate more complex incidents, providing diagnostic and root cause analysis.
- Manage virtualization environments such as VMware or Hyper-V, including configuration and performance tuning.
- Maintain backup solutions for Windows environments and ensure recovery procedures are tested and documented.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of security controls, such as antivirus, endpoint protection, and server hardening.
- Document processes, incidents, and resolutions, ensuring knowledge sharing across the team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute server migrations, upgrades, and deployments.
- Support disaster recovery plans and participate in regular DR testing.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to provide out-of-hours support as required.
Key Requirements:
Technical Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server operating systems (2012, 2016, 2019, 2022).
- Hands on experience on VMware product suit (ESXi 7.0 & 8.0, vCenter, vrealize automation, vrealize logs, vrealize operation manager, vSAN).
- Experience with Active Directory (AD), Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and other Windows-based services.
- Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery tools (e.g., Veeam, Backup Exec).
- Experience with patch management tools like WSUS, SCCM, or third-party solutions.
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DNS, DHCP).
Certifications (preferred):
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE).
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or other relevant virtualization certifications.
Mandatory Skills:
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively under pressure.
- Team player with a proactive attitude and a customer-centric approach.
Education and Experience:
- Graduate in Information Technology, Computer Science or any equivalent field.
- Candidate with Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field will be preferred.
- 6 to 10 years of experience in managing and supporting Windows server environments at the L2 level.
