Purpose & Scope
· Senior Systems Administrator specialized skills in Server, Storage, and Virtualization technologies. The position would be a technical lead and responsible for all servers and storage infrastructure across TELETEXT and its group companies. Additional responsibilities include assisting the IT Helpdesk with incident analysis and resolution.
Roles & Responsibilities
· Work closely with all depts. and operational teams in Teletext to ensure the stability and efficient delivery of IT Infrastructure services.
· Responsible for core servers and storage infrastructure services.
· Responsible for successful deployments of all change requests or new implementations in servers and storage technologies.
· Excellent analytical and problem solving skills to help identify, communicate and resolve issues in servers and storage services.
· Play lead role in mentoring team members and work closely with all levels of team for effective delivery of IT Helpdesk services.
· Installing and configuring computer hardware operating systems and applications.
· Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks.
· Engage with employees or clients through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the telephone, to help set up systems or resolve issues.
· Troubleshooting system and network problems.
· Diagnosing and solving hardware or software faults.
· Answer IT Helpdesk e-Tickets, phone calls and emails.
· Diagnose and solving network issues, software & hardware issues within targets.
· Escalate tickets to next level in right time and prioritize the tickets.
· Providing support, including procedural documentation and relevant reports.
· Following diagrams and written instructions to repair a fault or set up a system.
· Supporting the roll-out or deploying new systems and applications.
· Prioritizing and managing many open cases at one time.
Skills Required
· Ability to work with within a team and provide leadership in change deployment, and support of infrastructure systems
· Provide recommendations, develop & maintain documentation, and report to Dept. Head.
· Solid Experience with Servers, Operating Systems, Desktops, Laptops and Mobile Devices.
· Extensive working knowledge of Servers and Storage technologies.
· Solid working experience in root cause analysis of IT issues and preventive measures.
· Windows Operating Systems Windows 2008 and 2012
· Exposure to Linux Operating Systems such as CentOS, Ubuntu, Red Hat Linux etc.
· Hands-on experience in Active Directory, Remote Desktop Services, LDAP
· Emails, Ticketing Systems, Video Conference and MS Office tools.
· Working experience in VMware vCenter, Microsoft Hyper-V.
· Basic knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure
· Knowledge in VoIP, IP Telephony and PBX systems.
· Hands on working experience of Firewall
· Good Communication Skills
· Able to work on own and under pressure.
· Professional attitude and work along with IT team.
Education Qualifications & Experience Level
· A Graduate with IT/Computer/Network as primary subjects
· Level 2+ Professional Certification in Microsoft/Cisco/VMware/AWS added advantage.
· 8+ years relevant working experience in any IT services company.
