Why is the Position Open?

This position is open in Flipkart’s center of excellence team and with a Hiring Manager whom we have worked successfully in the past with Myntra. He has joined Flipkart 6 months back. This team is expanding its testing quality automation coverage. Additionally, the systems and domains they work on is very intensive and complex processes. Addition of SDETs in the team would increase the testing quality automation coverage.

They are starting a new process where they are going to implement new projects as well as enhancing existing projects to Flipkart for BBD. So, this team is being newly formed to build a test platform for all the new applications coming at once.

Separate team won’t have separate SDETS, rather one SDET platform for all teams.

The business challenge hiring new SDETs in the team will solve is that through test automation and backend testing along with framework development/enhancement, the testing quality automation coverage will expand across products in all new applications of Flipkart

Also they will have to work across a new platform called locust.io which is in Python

Qualifications and Experience Required

Experience - 2-5 Years

Qualification -

1. Ability to code in Python is must

2. Hands-on experience in Rest API testing

3. Very strong in Backend testing

4. Should have worked on Manual testing

5. Basic Data Structures – e.g Array, List, Maps, recursion in Java comfortably.

6. Testing Bend of Mind – should be good with functional testing, test scenarios and cases

7. Ability to communicate with Product managers, be energetic and should be able to work on several systems

8. Ability to write Basic DB Queries (good to have, not mandatory)

9. Framework experience

Additional Information

This is a completely new team, and they will get to work on the projects from scratch. Appium can be part of the project in future, but not in the initial 6 months
