JOB OBJECTIVE

This role is responsible for being the executor of the development and deployment of appropriate SAP components to achieve the performance, scalability and reliability goals of the company. The role, which is primarily concerned with SAP ABAP, directly contributes to the SAP technical strategy and planning and should be up to date with knowledge and skills of SAP technical process development and deployment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

•      Carry out estimation and all work effort relating to SAP ABAP activities and technical architecture components

•      Perform technical architecture analysis, design, build, test and deploy for SAP Environments

•      Assist the reporting manager to define and manage development of the SAP solution and managing process with the hardware provider or the hosting provider

•      Assist the reporting manager in advising on developmental approach for all systems integrating to SAP

•      Assist the reporting manager in managing third party dependencies related to SAP environment

•      Assist the reporting manager in system landscape design and management experience in operations and project scenarios

•      Should have good knowledge in ABAP on HANA, S4 Hana CDS Views, AMDP

•      OData

•      If FIORI development exposure will be added advantage

•      Adobe form, Smartforms

•      RFC development

•      IDOC

•      Workflow will be added advantage

•      BDC, BAPI, LSMW

•      Perform development and testing of the system wherever required

•      Responsible to handle all SAP technical changes

•      Provide guidance and understanding of SAP best practices on backup and recovery to key stakeholders

•      Perform troubleshooting and root cause analysis in the SAP Environment

•      Ensure that the work is in accordance with established professional standards and remain abreast of emerging trends and best practices that can be incorporated into the function

•      Perform preparation of procedures and reports to identify and resolve data integrity issues

•      Responsible to assist members of ERP ABAP towards efficient solutions

•      Collaborate with other sub-departments of IT to develop and test new means of business continuity

•      Meet regularly with the reporting manager to report the status of ongoing activities, educate/inform them of emerging risks and/or exposures (whether internal or external to the company) that should be considered as part of their day-to-day workings

•      Resolve any issues which may arise during the course of the different business processes

•      Perform any other tasks on ad-hoc basis as required by the reporting manager

•   Execute of all ABAP SOP's, processes and policies of ERP department

•   Development of various modules as per defined use-cases and blueprint

•   Testing of various modules developed and ensure usability of the code

•   Ensuring all development programs are happening as per timelines

•   Provide technical support to end users for troubleshooting

COMPLIANCE

•   Compliance to all ISO standards and norms

•   Adherence to all SOP’s and processes defined as per APEX project

DESIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

QUALIFICATION

•   Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT or any other closely related field

•   Desired (if any, please specify) - SAP BTP, MDK, SDK preferable, SAP PI/PO preferable

•   Certifications - SAP / HANA ABAP

 

EXPERIENCE

•   5-8 Years of experience in the field of IT and ERP

•   5-8 Years of experience in the field of SAP ABAP

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

FUNCTIONAL SKILLS

•   Hands on experience on ABAP development

•   Good understanding of ERP processes and business impact

 

BEHAVIOURAL SKILLS

•   Analytical skills: good analytical and problem-solving abilities

•   Good oral and written communication skills

•   Excellent business acumen and interpersonal skills; able to work across business lines to influence and effect change to achieve common goals

 

IT SKILLS

•   MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint

•   Working knowledge of SAP / any other domain-specific IT tools

•   Ability to learn any new software as per business needs
