About the Role 

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Architect - Backend with a strong product-focused background and expertise in building and scaling backend architectures for enterprise-grade applications. In this strategic and hands-on role, you’ll lead the technical design and implementation of highly scalable, reliable systems that power our cutting-edge B2B SaaS platform. You’ll partner closely with senior leadership and engineering teams to define the technology roadmap and create robust architectures that support current and future demands.

Key Responsibilities 

1. Architect and Design: Define and lead the design of backend architectures for highly available, scalable, and secure systems.

2. Drive Technical Strategy: Collaborate with senior leaders to create a long-term technology roadmap aligned with product and business goals.

3. Lead Core Projects: Oversee large-scale projects from conception through deployment, ensuring efficient system design, robust performance, and optimal resource utilization.

4. Mentorship and Guidance: Provide thought leadership and mentor engineering leads and teams in best practices, coding standards, and emerging technologies.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product management, front-end architects, and DevOps to ensure a cohesive and high-performing technology stack.

6. Innovation and Optimization: Identify areas for continuous improvement in system performance, scalability, and reliability, and drive initiatives for process enhancements.

7. Technology Leadership: Serve as the go-to expert for backend systems design and implementation, maintaining high standards of quality and security.

Required Skills and Experience 

1. 15-20 years of experience in backend development, with a strong focus on architecture and system design within product-based MNCs.

2. Proven expertise in designing and implementing backend systems using Java, Spring Boot, microservices architecture, and distributed system principles.

3. Deep experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and a solid understanding of cloud-native design, scalability, and reliability.

4. Strong knowledge of database systems, including both SQL and NoSQL technologies, with a focus on performance optimization and data modeling.

5. Proficiency with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and a strong background in building secure, scalable microservices.

6. Experience in security best practices and understanding of data privacy and compliance within large-scale systems.

7. Expertise in performance tuning, high-throughput systems, and API management.

8. Proven track record of designing multi-tenant architectures and handling multi-million user-scale systems.

Preferred Qualifications 

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

- Experience in global enterprise product environments with familiarity in scaling applications across different regions.

- Strong communication skills and a history of working effectively with global teams.

- Demonstrated ability to innovate, design, and execute on large projects with a focus on customer experience and business outcomes.
