About the Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Engineering Manager to join one of India’s largest gaming companies. This is an exciting opportunity to lead, innovate, and contribute to the growth of a cutting-edge product in a high-energy start-up environment. As an Engineering Manager, you will drive technical excellence, build and scale teams, and work on complex, highly transactional systems.
Responsibilities:
- Architect and Innovate: Design and develop highly scalable, available, and reliable systems to solve critical business challenges.
- Drive Excellence: Establish and implement best practices to continuously improve the product development lifecycle.
- Roadmap Development: Create and execute detailed roadmaps for system and product growth with timely and high-quality delivery.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with designers, product managers, and business analysts to provide delivery plans and estimates in an Agile setup.
- Leadership and Mentoring: Build clear career paths for team members, mentor them, and foster a collaborative, results-driven culture.
- Performance Evaluation: Regularly assess team performance, provide constructive feedback, and seek continuous improvements.
- Hands-On Contribution: Spend approximately 40% of your time in hands-on development and 60% in managerial and strategic responsibilities.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Experience: 8-12 years in product-based companies, preferably start-ups, with a strong record of scaling engineering teams and delivering impactful solutions.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead, inspire, and grow high-performing engineering teams.
- Technical Expertise:Strong grasp of scalable back-end development and experience in handling production and performance challenges.
- Deep knowledge of mobile app development in highly transactional and complex environments.
- Hands-on experience with Java/Node.js and architectural patterns for scalable and highly available systems.
- Problem-Solving: Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to devise innovative solutions.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Start-Up Experience: Prior experience in scaling start-ups or gaming companies is highly desirable.
Technology Stack:
- Backend: Java/ Python/ Go/Node.js
- Knowledge of database design, software development methodologies, and platform technologies.
