Job purpose
The primary function of the role as a Reinsurance Business Development Manager, your primary
responsibility will be to develop and maintain relationships with reinsurance partners to support the
growth and profitability of our business. You will work closely with internal teams, clients, and
reinsurance companies to identify opportunities, negotiate contracts, and ensure the effective execution
of reinsurance business. Your role will involve a combination of business development, relationship
management, and analytical skills.
Duties and responsibilities
Business Development:
Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the reinsurance market.
Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential clients and target to be achieved in
line with the company business plan for reinsurance.
Build and maintain a strong network of reinsurance companies, clients and industry contacts.
Collaborate with internal teams to develop tailored reinsurance solutions for clients.
Prepare and deliver effective presentations and proposals to clients and partners.
Identify the APT – end user customers based specially identified for different line of products (ex:
Marine, Aviation etc.)
Relationship Management:
Foster and maintain strong relationships with existing reinsurance partners and customers.
Regularly engage with reinsurance companies to understand their capabilities, products, and
pricing.
Negotiate terms and conditions of reinsurance contracts, including pricing, coverage, and
commission structures.
Address any issues or concerns raised by reinsurance partners and ensure timely resolution.
Risk Analysis and Reporting:
Analyze reinsurance submissions and assess risk exposure.
Collaborate with underwriters and actuaries to determine appropriate reinsurance coverage.
Develop and implement risk management strategies to optimize the reinsurance portfolio.
Prepare detailed reports on reinsurance placements, profitability, and performance metrics.
Monitor market trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance with industry standards.
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Minimum of 8 years of experience in the insurance or reinsurance industry, with a focus on
business development and relationship management.
Strong knowledge of reinsurance products, market dynamics, and industry trends.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build rapport and negotiate
effectively.
Analytical mindset with proficiency in risk analysis, financial modeling, and data interpretation.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Proven track record of achieving business targets and driving revenue growth.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
