Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Bakery COMMI 2 to join our team at Svenska Design Hotel, Mumbai. This full-time position is based at our Kakinada location. The role is ideal for candidates with 1 to 3 years of experience in baking and pastry. As a Junior-level position, it offers the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in a Swedish luxury hotel environment.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proficiency in baking techniques with a solid understanding of pastry creation. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to prepare a variety of baked goods with precision and creativity.
- Experience in dough preparation is essential. This includes the effective handling and mixing of ingredients to achieve desired dough consistency and quality. (Mandatory skill)
- Must have skills in both bread and pastry preparation. Candidates should be adept in a range of techniques from traditional baking methods to modern pastry innovations. (Mandatory skill)
- Food safety knowledge and dedication to maintaining a clean and safe working environment are required to ensure the health standards of the kitchen are upheld.
- Skills in recipe development and modification are necessary, enabling candidates to contribute to menu enhancement and optimization.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and production of a range of baked goods following provided recipes and standard procedures.
- Ensure all bakery items are prepared efficiently and are of high quality, meeting the hotel's standards for taste and presentation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by adhering to all food safety and sanitation guidelines.
- Contribute to the development of new bakery items in collaboration with senior chefs and the culinary team.
- Monitor inventory levels of baking ingredients and supplies, and communicate needs for replenishment to the head chef or kitchen manager.
- Support the head baker in various tasks and during peak times to ensure all bakery operations run smoothly and efficiently.
- Engage positively with other kitchen staff and maintain a collaborative and respectful workplace culture.
- Stay updated with new baking trends and techniques to continually improve and innovate the bakery offerings.
