Role: Database Administrator - IBM Mainframe

We are seeking a talented individual to join our team for a 12-month project at one of the big banks and take charge of ensuring the seamless installation, design, configuration, upgrade, administration, monitoring, and maintenance of databases and associated software products.

Responsibilities:

Lead the installation, design, configuration, upgrade, administration, monitoring, and maintenance of databases, specifically focusing on IDMS Database.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the integrity, reliability, efficiency, and security of enterprise data.

Provide expert guidance and support to operational systems and development environments.

Implement best practices for database management and optimization.

Proactively identify and resolve performance and security issues.

Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies related to mainframe systems and database management.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience as an IBM Mainframe Specialist with a specialization in IDMS Database.

Proficiency in installation, design, configuration, upgrade, administration, monitoring, and maintenance of databases and associated software products.

Strong understanding of enterprise data integrity, reliability, efficiency, and security principles.

Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.

Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Relevant certifications (e.g., IBM Certified Database Administrator) are a plus
