A. Job Description:

Leadership and Project Oversight:

• Execute Piping engineering, leading a team of Area Leads, Engineers, Checkers, and Designers.
• Overall responsibility and accountability for quality and on-time delivery of piping activities for the project.
• Prepare proposals and manhour estimates.
• Support Discipline Head in Manpower planning and Recruitment.

Project Management:

• Collaborate with Project Manager and Planner in finalizing project schedules.
• Raise timely flags for extension/re-baselining needs.
• Manage software license usage optimally; support Discipline Head in cost optimization.

Design and Review:

• Participate in Design Reviews – Internal as well as External.
• Address external escalations related to Piping Scope of work.
• Resolve conflicts and escalations related to Interdiscipline interfaces and interactions between India Office and Onsite coordinator.

Claims and Efficiency:

• Raise claims related to rework and extra work to Project Manager in a timely manner.
• Maintain uniformity and work on enhancing efficiency of design philosophies via regular project-level feedbacks and lessons learned data.

B. Knowledge Base / Soft Skills:

Project Lifecycle and Piping Engineering:

• Overall awareness and understanding of Project lifecycle, Piping detail engineering process, timelines, and milestones.
• Hands-on experience in Piping deliverables like Plot Plan, Equipment Layout, Piping Layout, Piping MTO, Piping Isometrics, Pipe Supports.

Technical Competencies:

• Good understanding of 3D model-based detail engineering, interfaces with 3D Admin.
• Basic understanding of Piping stress analysis concepts.
• Good understanding of Interdiscipline interfaces and coordination.
• Familiarity with relevant codes and standards.
• Good understanding of Brownfield / Turnaround / MOC projects involving interfaces with existing facilities.

Software Proficiency:

• Strong proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Paint.
• Software exposure to Navisworks.

Communication Skills:

• Good English communication skills – written and oral.

Additional Experience (Advantageous):

• Subcontracting.
• Site posting experience during the construction phase.
• Working with Laser Scan Inputs.
• Experience in Piping Material Specification and Valves procurement.

C. Position Specific Requirements:

Sector: Oil & Gas and/or Chemical.

Educational Qualification: Mechanical Engineering Degree from a reputed institute.

Software Exposure: Navisworks.

Experience:

• 13-16 years experience in Piping Engineering field.
• Minimum 10 years hands-on experience in Piping Detail Engineering of Oil & Gas and/or Chemical Sector projects, executed on a 3D model platform.
• Prior experience as Piping Lead for a project of 8000-10000 manhours for Piping Engineering.
• Prior experience in independently handling a team of minimum 10 persons.
