Position Overview:

As a Structural Engineer in the oil and gas industry, your primary responsibility is to design, analyze, and oversee the construction of structures, facilities, and infrastructure used in the exploration, extraction, refining, and transportation of oil and gas resources. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that structural designs meet safety, environmental, and regulatory standards while optimizing cost and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Structural Design: Develop detailed structural designs for offshore and onshore facilities including platforms, pipelines, refineries, storage tanks, and other structures using industry-standard software and methodologies.
2. Analysis and Calculation: Perform structural analysis, including finite element analysis (FEA), to evaluate the integrity, stability, and performance of designed structures under various loading conditions, such as wind, waves, seismic events, and operational loads.
3. Compliance and Standards: Ensure compliance with relevant industry codes, standards, regulations, and best practices such as API, ASCE, AISC, ACI, and ISO. Stay updated on changes in regulations and implement necessary adjustments to designs accordingly.
4. Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments and structural integrity evaluations to identify potential hazards, vulnerabilities, and mitigation measures for existing and proposed structures.
5. Material Selection: Specify appropriate materials for structural components considering factors such as strength, corrosion resistance, durability, and cost-effectiveness in challenging environments.
