Responsible for carrying out HSE activities during preparation, execution, and re-commissioning of assigned Area in accordance with HSE, Quality, and schedule. He will be focal person for HSE activities for that Area. Roles:
➢ Providing safety training for employees, including hazard recognition, safe work practices, and emergency response procedures.
➢ Ensuring that all personnel wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow established safety protocols.
➢ Coordinating with management, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders to address safety concerns and improve overall safety performance.
➢ Maintaining accurate records of safety-related activities, such as inspections, incident reports, and employee training.
➢ Conducting regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure that safety measures are in place and properly maintained.
➢ Investigating accidents and incidents to determine their root causes and recommending corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
➢ Assists HSE lead in the formulation and development of safety programs in the Plants. Includes ensuring the availability of safety manuals, hazardous area instructions, safety materials, safety publications and posters.
➢ Oversees the implementation of the “permit to work” system as per OQ requirement.
➢ Includes reviewing permits issued by operations personnel, ensuring proper measures are taken prior to commencement of work, such as equipment or plant isolation, shutdown and that necessary tests (such as gas tests) are taken.
➢ Participates in incident control during accidents or emergencies. Investigates incidents and prepares an independent assessment of cause, results and measures to be taken to prevent future occurrences.
➢ Monitors vehicle activity in the plant and recommends action to be taken in cases of unsafe driving practice.
➢ Investigates as assigned incidents of environmental pollution, participates in the control of clean-up operations using available equipment and personnel.
➢ Conduct Toolbox Talks.
➢ Provide expertise and training to all employees on issues related to safety.
➢ Thorough knowledge of applicable health and safety rules and regulations.
➢ Reviewing and reporting on the staff's compliance with health and safety rules and recommending commendations or dismissal based on performance
➢ HSE relevant training (NEBOSH or equivalent) preferred.
➢ Professional certifications, such as the Certified Safety Professional (CSP), the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) qualifications, or the Occupational Safety and Health Professional (OHST) certification.
➢ Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and industry standards, such as the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines and the American Petroleum Institute (API) standards.
➢ Should be very good in English communication skills and computer operating skill(MS office).
➢ Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in engineering with minimum of 7-10 years in Turnaround maintenance of Refinery/petrochemical industry.
