Job Description

Responsibilities

·        Manage the open source database like Postgres, Casandra.

·        Handle Postgres Cluster

·        Own HA & Fail-over strategies for Postgres / NoSQL

·        Programmer  of Postgres / NoSQL

·        Develop Postgres based Key Space, Tables, Indexes, Queries

·        Develop APIs on top of Postgres database

·        Perform and own Data backup and Recovery activities

·        Continuous improvement of the cluster with respect to Performance

·        Compression and cold storage of the data

·        Push the data to warm site for future use and Analytics 

Qualifications/Skills

●       Experience:

○        B. Tech / B.E in computer science or any other allied fields from premier institutions.

○        5+ years of total experience as Postgres programmer  with 3-6 years as Casandra developer.

●       Preferable:

○        Experience and understanding of government services, Safety & Mobility domains

○        Work experience on other NoSQL databases like Elasticsearch & HBase

●       Must have skills:

○        Experience with querying on data present in Postgres cluster using CQL (Postgres Query Language).

○        Hands on experience in development, deployment and operational support for NoSQL Databases.

○        Experience in creating tables involving collections, TTLs, counter, UDTs as part of data modeling.

○        Familiar with all phases of data modeling like physical data modeling, logical data modeling.

○        Experience in Importing data from various sources to the Postgres cluster.

○        Coordinates scheduled ad-hoc, and emergency tasks within the Business scope

○        Utilizes design patterns, codes that comply with security policies and guidelines.)

○        Deep understanding of Postgres read & write paths.

○        Experience in understanding data flows/logics across Business modules developed in Postgres.

○        Reverse Engineering codes/processes developed in Postgres.
