Position Details:

Job Role: Contract Engineer

Experience Required : 8-10 Years (with at least 5 years in the oil and gas projects only) (Powerplant & petrochemical experience will not be considered)

Qualification: Diploma/BE/BTech - Mechanical

Location : Abu Dhabi

Software Experience in: AutoCAD, Microsoft project, Primavera

Job Description:

• Study the Contract for Technical evaluation which includes the bidder's ability to meet project specifications, while commercial evaluation focuses on pricing and contractual terms.

• To Develop and finalize the primary project contract, including milestones, payment terms, dispute resolution mechanisms, and other contractual provisions.

• To Administer the release of any contract-related performance bonds, guarantees, or securities to the Client.

• To Continuously monitor the performance of the main contractor and ensuring subcontractor agreements align with the main contract and meet project requirements.

• To Ensure the compliance with all contract terms, handling change orders, facilitating progress payments, and overseeing project closeout activities.

• To Address any ongoing issues that may arise after the contract is initiated, such as changes in project scope or unforeseen challenges.

• To prepare the detailed cost breakdown as per the variation scope of works after consulting with the discipline engineers for the additional quantities.

• To Prepare and negotiate claims with the Client as they arise during the project and assess the validity of claims and work toward fair and equitable dispute resolution.

• To Collaborate with legal experts to understand the legal implications and obligations of the contract.

• To Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards that may affect the contract.

• To Maintain the comprehensive records of all contract-related activities, changes, and communications for Variation orders / claims.

• To Monitor and ensure that all parties involved in the contract adhere to its terms and conditions. 

In addition to these responsibilities, contract engineers in the oil and gas industry must also have a strong understanding of the industry's regulations and safety standards. They must also be able to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment independently and as part of a team.
