Job Overview

We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Nurse Midwife to join our team at Spandana Hospital. This full-time position requires expertise in midwifery, prenatal, labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn care. The role is based in our Bangalore headquarters and involves providing holistic healthcare services to women and newborns.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Nursing or Midwifery with a specialization in women's health and childbirth.
  • Valid nursing and midwifery certification from a recognized governing body.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in labor and delivery, prenatal, and postpartum care.
  • Strong understanding of best practices in midwifery and women's healthcare.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for patient education and support.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage emergency situations during labor and delivery.
  • Proficiency in using healthcare management systems and electronic medical records.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with the latest advancements in midwifery.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive prenatal care to expectant mothers, including routine check-ups, screenings, and health education.
  • Manage labor and delivery, ensuring the well-being of both mother and child, and provide support during the birthing process.
  • Offer postpartum care, including physical assessments, breastfeeding support, and emotional guidance.
  • Educate patients on reproductive health, childbirth preparation, and newborn care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records of patients’ histories, assessments, and treatments.
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Identify and address complications during pregnancy, labor, or postpartum and refer patients to specialists as needed.
  • Promote health and wellness through community outreach and education programs focused on women's health.
