ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE TEACHERS

                                     Teachers are pillars of the society

Ø Teachers must have thorough knowledge of the concepts before enter into the class room.

Ø Proper teaching aid and effective real life example should be given by teaching the topic.

Ø Delivering the concept is mandatory.

Ø Uniformity of teaching is mandatory.

Ø Teachers must follow interactive methodology as much as possible.

Ø Give individual attention to students in order to attain uniformity of learning.

Ø Wherever required use experimental teaching and learning method of teaching.

Ø Teachers are responsible for the development of the student’s LSRW skills.

Ø Teachers must ensure that their class students should be thorough in all concepts before promoting to the next class.

Ø Teachers must practice their students to write the concept on their own.

Ø Weekly test to be conducted on every concept and every chapter/lesson.

Ø Motivate students to prepare questions on their own from every nook and corner of the topics; don’t restrict them with minimum questions. Ask them to prepare maximum questions.

Ø Teachers are responsible for student’s neatness and discipline like proper hair and nail cutting.

Ø Teachers must monitor students punctuality in time , uniform, belt and shoes

Ø  Don’t encourage mobile, jewels or any other expensive ornaments or gadgets in the class room.

Ø Appoint a responsible person as a class leader who can control the class well.

Ø Allocate responsibilities for all the students based on their interest like discipline leader, cleanliness leader etc.,

Ø  Teachers should be strict on the students in completion of Homework, classwork etc.,

Ø Make students to complete the homework at their home. Don’t allow them to do homework in class.

Ø Plan worksheet for the concepts to test the students understanding on the concept.

Ø An effective lesson Plan (ALP, MLP, WLP) to be prepared and get approval from the respective HOD as well as respective Academic coordinator and vice principal.

Ø Teaching aid and real life examples of the topic should be discussed with the handling teachers in advance to ensure the uniformity of teaching as well learning and to avoid progressive learners.

Ø Teachers kindly don’t discriminate students as low achiever, instead motivate them to be a best performer.

Ø Inform students in advance about your next day teaching topic, let them go through the concept and come with doubts or ideas.

Ø Teachers should enter the class with smiling face avoid frown face while teaching.

Ø Teachers should include humor in the class wherever possible and connect with your concepts and make students to participate in your teaching.

Ø Teachers should be responsible to complete their day work, weekly work as per the schedule without any delay.

Ø Teachers must not leave for day the without completing their day work and need to submit the next day planner to coordinator before leaving the school.

Ø Teachers should be on time to class for their period, students should not be left ideal in the class without teachers.

Ø Use the staff room for development of academic preparations like strategies for teaching and innovative teaching. Don’t use the staff room for gossiping about teachers, coordinators and vice principal.

Ø Avoid discussing personal issues in staff room.

Ø Teachers are role model for the students considering that maintain proper dress code. Avoid flowers, much bangles and anklets with more beads.

Ø Severe action will be taken on the teacher who deviates from their day work /responsibility.

Ø Teachers should not allow any students to use un parliamentary words in the class.

Ø Teachers should ensure that all the students are speaking only in English except Tamil periods.

Ø Every teacher should spend 3 minutes for moral values through stories or real incidents.

Ø Teachers should have proper class room control.

Ø Appreciate your subject and explain the importance, benefits of studying your subject to students.

Ø Avoid discriminating student on basis of their shape, religion, caste and their economic status.

Ø Treat all the students equally.

Ø Make sure that your students are respecting all the teachers as well as other faculty in the school.

Ø Teachers should motivate students to greet all the teachers and staff in the school.

Ø Greeting habit should start from the teachers first; greet each other in the school campus.

Ø Teachers should monitor their class room cleanliness regularly.

Ø Teachers should hold any students who are speaking in Tamil in the campus. Instruct them to follow the campus language.

Ø Teachers are responsible for the school properties. If any equipment/furniture gets damaged, breakage amount will be detected from the respective teacher salary.

Ø Time management should be focused during exam time. Don’t give extra time for any students to continue their exam.

Ø Report to school on time.

Ø Teacher’s punctuality and discipline is most important since you are role model for students.

Ø Teachers must give space to students to ask questions and doubts in the class.

Ø Focus on interactive method of teaching effectively.

Ø Avoid sitting in the class room.

Ø No corporal/physical punishment is encouraged in the school.

Ø Encourage students for higher order thinking. Create a platform for students to develop it in the class room.

Ø Include art integration method of teaching wherever possible in your teaching.

Ø Teachers should motivate students to follow the rules and responsibility strictly.

Ø Give importance to life skill in your class room.

Ø Avoid traditional method of teaching, upgrade your teaching style.

Ø Teachers must use songs/dance/activities to make students understand better, although know your limit, avoid non-professional songs/dance.

Ø Apply your leave in advance; avoid sending messages in the last minute if done so, 2 days LOP will be applied.

Ø Teachers should be prepared for the extended teaching. Collect information about the concept apart from the text book to attain extended learning of the students.

Ø Leave substitution should be done by teachers. When teachers are taking leave they should arrange substitution discussing with their collegue
