Job Title: Project Manager - Solar Projects

Location: Coimbatore

Job Summary:

The Project Manager will oversee the planning, implementation, and tracking of specific solar projects. They will work closely with stakeholders to define project objectives, oversee quality control throughout the project lifecycle, and manage budgetary constraints. The Project Manager will coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.

Responsibilities:

1. Project Planning and Coordination:

• Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Develop full-scale project plans and associated communication documents.
• Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
• Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.

1. Project Execution:

• Execute project according to the project plan.
• Develop forms and records to document project activities.
• Monitor the progress of the project and make adjustments as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project.
• Establish a communication schedule to update stakeholders, including appropriate staff in the organization on the progress of the project.

1. Resource Management:

• Determine and assess the need for additional staff and/or consultants and make the appropriate recruitments if necessary during project cycle.
• Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.

1. Quality Management:

• Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality.
• Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.

1. Risk Management:

• Manage project risks through the identification, analysis, and appropriate action response of the relative contingency plans.
• Ensure that project status, progress, and outcomes are transparent to all stakeholders.

1. Financial Management:

• Create and maintain project budget and track expenses.
• Analyze project profitability, revenue, margins, and utilization.

1. Reporting and Documentation:

• Prepare and maintain project documentation including project charter, scope documents, and status reports.
• Ensure project documentation is complete, current, and stored appropriately.

1. Team Leadership:

• Motivate and lead project team members on a proactive basis.
• Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
• Proven working experience as a project manager in the solar energy sector or related field.
• Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and project management tools.

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
• Understanding of permitting and regulatory compliance processes related to solar projects.
