About the role:
We are looking for a Senior Manager - HR who will be responsible for driving the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of comprehensive learning and development programs within the organization that support the growth, capacity-building, and effectivenessof the organization's staff and volunteers. This position plays a pivotal role in enhancing the
skills, knowledge, and capabilities of individuals within the NGO, ultimately contributing to the achievement of its mission and objectives.
Your role to supplement the Organisational goals:
● Develop and execute an L&D strategy aligned with the NGO's mission, values, and goals.
● Collaborate with department heads, program managers, and volunteers to identify learning needs, gather insights, and align L&D efforts with organisational priorities.
● Forecasting talent requirements and budgeting.
● Design, deliver, and facilitate training programs that support staff and volunteer development, covering areas such as leadership, project management, advocacy, fundraising, and program implementation.
● Collaborate with subject matter experts both within and outside the organization to provide specialised training on relevant topics.
● Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the organization by promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
● Develop mechanisms for assessing the effectiveness and impact of training initiatives, including collecting feedback, measuring outcomes, and making improvements based on data.
● Regularly evaluate the progress and results of learning programs and share insights with stakeholders.
● Source and utilise external training resources, materials, and partnerships when needed.
● Utilise technology and digital platforms to enhance the delivery and accessibility of learning programs, particularly for remote and field-based staff and volunteers.
● Design and implementation of overall Talent strategy for the organisation
● Design and implementation of HR systems and processes towards scaling of theorganisation
Who we are looking for:
● Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education, Human Resources, Social Sciences, Nonprofit Management, or a related field.
● 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role. Preferably experience in designing and managing learning and development programs, preferably within the nonprofit or NGO sector.
● Strong understanding of adult learning principles, participatory training methods, and culturally sensitive approaches.
● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
● Demonstrated commitment to social impact, social justice, and the values of the NGO sector.
● Proficiency in using learning management systems (LMS), online collaboration tools, and e-learning platforms.
● Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
● Flexibility to adapt to changing organizational needs and emerging trends in nonprofit L&D.
● Experience working in cross-cultural contexts is a plus.
● Strong understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
● Sincerely passionate about L&D and making a change.
● Experience in talent management, performance management, and employee engagement.
● Knowledge of change management principles and organizational development.
● Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
