 The Deputy Director-Finance will be responsible for: 

Contribute to defining the Organisation’s strategy 

  • • Creating the budgetary framework of the organization 
  • • Making financial and budgetary information available to other departments to facilitate the establishment of the country strategy 
  • • Producing high quality and timely financial and budgetary contributions to "proposals" and reports for funding bodies 
  • • Contributing a financial and budgetary perspective to coordination discussions 
  • • Advising other departments on their financial and budgetary needs 
  • • Ensuring that financial and budgetary needs and constraints are considered in the preparation of projects 
  • • Collecting data and writing financial and budgetary section of proposals and reports to funding bodies and contributing to the financing plan 
  • • Ensuring consistent contribution to “proposals” and reports with the rest of the documents 
  • • Identifying the risks of fraud and corruption in the field of competence and putting in place preventative and monitoring mechanisms 
  • • Making team aware of the risks of fraud and corruption 
  • • Alerting the Chief Executive Officer to cases of fraud and corruption and undertaking corrective action 
  • • Putting in place and monitoring recommendations arising from the day-to-day control and audit 


High Quality Accounting: 

  • • Disseminating information about accounting procedures throughout the mission and ensuring they are observed the correctness of accounting and analytical entries 
  • • Timely forwarding of the monthly accounting bundle 
  • • Verifications of cash and bank accounts
  • • Ensuring that parameters of the accounting software are properly set up 
  • • Verifying bankbook and checking and bank reconciliations 


Team Management: 

  • • Creating a structured environment both in terms of processes & team management 
  • • Evaluating the performance and developing the skills of team members 
  • • Working out and monitoring individual action plans for team members 
  • • Managing planning operations, task sharing and coordination of work 
  • • Conducting performance management for team members 
  • • Identifying, devising & organizing the training needs of team
  • members 

Essential: 

  • • Manage all statutory compliance 
  • • Timely and accurate bookkeeping 
  • • Ensure MIS creation 
  • • Efficient management of cash and finances 
  • • Sound understanding of CSR laws is a must 
  • • Timely & accurate financial reporting to all stakeholders 
  • • Ensure all compliances are met within the well-defined timelines 
  • • Timely coordination of internal & external Audits 
  • • At least 8-10 years of experience in financial management, accounting in the Non-profit sector. 
  • • Demonstrated knowledge and experiences of computerized accounting systems and usage of Prime Edit Log version of Tally software 
  • • NGO experience
