Job Purpose
This role leads the team of State Category Managers for the Category, overseeing sourcing & buying for FMCG Food category for all states across all online & offline formats.
This is a P&L responsibility to deliver sales & profitability for States for every format for FMCG Food category.
Identify, develop & negotiate with the Regional & Local Vendors for assortment, price, promotions, category activations & availability.
Benchmark formats, catchments, stores for identifying assortment opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Review sourcing & buying plans for Regional & Local Vendors for all the online formats & physical store formats.
- Market study to identify customer needs and sourcing the relevant assortment thereof.
- Interact with NHQ team for events, activations & other marketing properties.
- Develop Regional & Local vendors and their capabilities to supply to our requirements for long term basis.
- Negotiate "Sauda" deals for key skus for all the formats in that state leading to better pricing & value to customers.
- Develop customer profile & community centric assortment for the given state, with the format team in the state.
- Buying forecast to vendors to ensure optimum availability of stocks in all DCs, formats & stores.
- Build comprehensive calendar of local micro festivals & design category specific activations to drive sales and community connect.
- Provide state specific insight on customer preferences & competition feedback.
- Conduct regular market visits to better understand category implementations in stores & build upon competitor awareness.

- Gross Margin & Other income achievement as per plan
