Job Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced individual for the role of Regional Category Buyer - Staples in Punjab. This senior position, based in Chandigarh, Amritsar, or Jalandhar, requires a minimum of 7 years of work experience. As a full-time employee, you will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing our staples category, ensuring superior product offerings and customer satisfaction.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in category management, with a focus on staples / commodities categories.
  • Proven expertise in buyer activities, ensuring the best product range and pricing (Mandatory skill).
  • In-depth knowledge of commodity categories, including market trends and dynamics (Mandatory skill).
  • Strong vendor negotiation skills to secure favorable purchase terms and conditions.
  • Experience in inventory management, ensuring optimal stock levels and reduced wastage.
  • Ability to analyze market data and consumer trends to drive category performance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team coordination and stakeholder management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset to identify growth opportunities and mitigate risks.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage the staples category across the designated region, ensuring product range alignment with market needs.
  • Conduct buyer activities including product selection, pricing strategy, and promotional planning (Mandatory skill).
  • Negotiate with vendors to secure favorable terms, pricing, and ensure the availability of high-quality products.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
  • Analyze sales data and market trends to make informed decisions and optimize category performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement category strategies and achieve business objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the customer shopping experience and satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including suppliers, internal teams, and customers.
