Reliance Consumer Products Ltd. is seeking a highly motivated and strategic Category Manager for its Water product category. The Category Manager will be responsible for managing and growing the Water product portfolio, driving category performance, market share, and profitability. This role involves overseeing product development, pricing strategy, promotional planning, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful product launches and continuous growth in the category.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Category Strategy Development:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for the Water category to achieve revenue growth, market share, and profitability targets.
  • Analyze consumer insights, market trends, and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities within the Water category.
  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for the category and monitor performance to ensure targets are met.
  • Drive strategic direction for product assortment, packaging, and pricing to maintain a competitive edge in the market.

2. Product Development & Innovation:

  • Collaborate with the Product Development team to create and enhance water products that meet consumer needs and market demands.
  • Lead the launch of new products within the Water category, from concept through to commercialization, ensuring alignment with market trends and consumer preferences.
  • Ensure ongoing innovation by identifying opportunities for product differentiation and improvements based on customer feedback and market analysis.

3. Pricing & Profitability:

  • Develop and implement pricing strategies for the Water category to optimize profitability while maintaining competitive positioning in the market.
  • Monitor and analyze pricing trends, costs, and margins to ensure the category is meeting financial objectives.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to assess profitability, conduct pricing reviews, and make adjustments as required.

4. Marketing & Promotional Planning:

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop integrated marketing plans that align with category goals and drive brand awareness and sales.
  • Plan and execute promotional strategies to boost product visibility, consumer engagement, and category sales.
  • Ensure consistency in messaging across all consumer touchpoints, including advertising, social media, retail displays, and in-store promotions.

5. Sales & Distribution Optimization:

  • Work closely with the sales team to develop sales strategies and ensure effective execution in key retail channels (supermarkets, e-commerce, etc.).
  • Provide insights to improve distribution channels, ensuring product availability and effective stock management.
  • Analyze sales performance, identify gaps, and propose corrective actions to optimize sales.

6. Consumer Insights & Market Analysis:

  • Conduct regular market research to identify consumer trends, preferences, and buying behaviors within the water category.
  • Use consumer insights and market data to inform decisions on product assortment, promotions, and pricing.
  • Monitor competitor activities and trends in the water category, ensuring Reliance Consumer Products Ltd. remains competitive.

7. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, R&D, sales, supply chain, and finance to ensure smooth execution of strategies.
  • Align with supply chain teams to ensure product availability and minimize stock-outs.
  • Collaborate with customer service teams to address customer feedback and improve satisfaction.

8. Reporting & Performance Tracking:

  • Prepare regular reports on the performance of the Water category, including sales data, market share, promotional effectiveness, and competitive analysis.
  • Provide actionable insights to senior management to drive business decisions.
  • Continuously track the success of category initiatives and make data-driven adjustments as necessary.
