Job Overview

We are seeking a Category Manager - FMCG Food to join our dynamic team at Reliance Retail. This is a mid-level, full-time position based in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of product categories to drive sales growth and profitability.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven experience in market analysis to understand consumer needs and market trends.
  • Strong product development skills for creating and managing product portfolios.
  • Expertise in supply chain management to ensure efficient product availability and distribution.
  • Effective supplier management skills to maintain strong relationships with suppliers. (Mandatory skill)
  • Aptitude in promotional planning to develop and execute promotional strategies. (Mandatory skill)
  • Advanced negotiation skills to secure the best terms and conditions with suppliers. (Mandatory skill)
  • Analytical abilities to evaluate category performance and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.


Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute category strategies to meet business goals and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and source new products to expand the product portfolio and meet market demand.
  • Negotiate with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional plans and campaigns.
  • Monitor and analyze category performance to optimize product assortment and pricing.
  • Manage inventory levels to ensure product availability while minimizing excess stock.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and competitor activities to inform category strategies.
