Job Purpose

Business is responsible for optimizing category performance through data-driven analysis and strategic planning. This role involves analyzing sales trends, inventory levels, and market conditions to make recommendations that maximize profitability and ensure an efficient product assortment. The analyst collaborates closely with category managers, supply chain teams, and other stakeholders to support informed decision-making and strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Analysis and Reporting

Analyze sales data, market trends, and customer behaviour to identify opportunities for category growth. Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and KPIs to monitor category performance. Provide actionable insights and recommendations to category managers and senior leadership.

2. Inventory Management

Monitor inventory levels and ensure optimal stock levels to meet demand. Analyze inventory turnover and recommend adjustments to inventory policies. Collaborate with supply chain teams to manage replenishment and reduce stockouts and overstock situations.

3. Category Planning and Strategy

Assist in the development and execution of category strategies and plans. Conduct competitive analysis to understand market positioning and pricing strategies. Support product assortment planning and recommend adjustments based on data insights.

4. Promotion and Pricing Analysis

Evaluate the effectiveness of promotions and pricing strategies. Analyze the impact of pricing changes on sales and profitability. Recommend pricing and promotional strategies to optimize category performance.
