Job Accountabilities

• Supervise and check  the work of subordinates
• Organize review meetings with internal/ external customers and vendors
• To carryout piping feasibility study and layout development.
• Timely completion of assigned work with quality compliance.
• Allocate appropriate works and provide necessary Piping inputs to subordinates
• Ensure Compliance to QMS procedures and maintaining relevant records
• Compliance to project specific HSE practices
• Job Planning and monitoring of detail Piping.
• Develop inputs for Project schedule / MIS reports
• Optimize resource utilization
• Planning for self and sub-ordinate training and its implementation, as directed by line manager.
• Initiatives for work process development
• Originates / organizes basic department deliverables and documents
• Efficient execution of project deliverables with available design tools.
• Coordinates technical issues with inter & intra disciplines and site
• Interprets and verifies industry standards guidelines and codes for project deliverables.
• Conduct & participate model reviews with client

Skills Required (Knowledge and Skills)

• Basic piping knowledge specific to discipline
• Expertise in  use and application of codes 
• Advance working knowledge of MS office, MicroStation & PDS and other software tools
• Thorough knowledge of project specification and standards
• Understands inter/intra discipline technical issues.
• Knowledge of planning and scheduling
• Knowledge of QMS procedures and department standards, guides and related work instructions
• Good communication & presentation skills
• Good team player
• Understanding of major regulations and industry codes and standards affecting standard design work
• Understands roles played by other departments on projects
• Understanding basics of Piping Material, pipe stress analysis, pipe support design principles and work processes
• Familiar with standard department deliverables and work process on projects
• Knows how to conceptualize and prepare standard department deliverables using standard work processes and tools
• Relevant site exposure will be an advantage

Key Attributes (Experience and Qualifications)

• 6 years minimum (3 years of working experience on medium complex projects – preferably DEC experience in Refinery, Petrochemical, O&G)
• Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Chemical engineering preferred).
