Job Role: Lead Engineer Production


SECTION II: PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

− The Lead Production Engineer is responsible for supporting, optimizing, and debottlenecking production operations across oil and gas including CBM fields. This role involves leveraging advanced analytical methodologies and simulation tools to enhance production performance, ensure operational efficiency, and support strategic decision-making. The candidate will work closely with asset teams to drive improvements in production, reliability, equipment uptime, and cost efficiency, while maintaining strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities


  1. Production Performance Analysis and Optimization:
  • Monitoring daily production from Oil & Gas and CBM assets along with analysis of deviations.
  • Monitoring performance of well completion, inflow and outflow curves, artificial lift systems operating in field.
  • Routinely analyze performance of surface facilities, pipeline network, produced HC and water chemistry, injected chemicals including flow assurance aspects.
  • Utilize simulation software such as OLGA, PIPESIM, and PROSPER to conduct in-depth studies and optimize field production.
  • Recommend for Production Optimization and Debottlenecking opportunities.
  • Analyze and monitor manage field water production including Artificial lift systems and provide solutions to sustain and enhance gas production.
  1. Technical Assurance and Compliance:
  • Review and provide independent assurance on technical proposals from assets.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and Codes, procedures, and company policies.
  • Ensure that all new processes and technologies are aligned with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  1. Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:
  • Work closely with asset and business teams.
  • Collaborate with site teams for implementation of technical proposals.

Education Qualifications

BE / B.Tech (Petroleum / Chemical/ Mechanical)


Experience (Must Have)

8-10 Years’ experience in Oil & Gas upstream production operations.


FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES

  • Inflow/outflow/flowline modeling
  • Production well testing and allocation principles
  • Network modeling and facilities operations
  • Artificial lift methods and systems such as, PCP, SRP, gas lift, ESP, foam lift, etc.
  • Reservoir surveillance
  • Advanced Production Analysis: Ability to conduct complex production analyses, including nodal and pressure-volume-temperature (PVT) analysis.
  • Simulation and Modelling: Expertise in using industry-standard simulation tools (e.g., OLGA, PIPESIM, PROSPER) to model and optimize production systems.
  • Well Performance Management: In-depth understanding of well performance monitoring, including inflow performance relationship (IPR) and tubing performance analysis (TPR).
  • Technical Assurance and Compliance: Ability to review and ensure compliance with technical standards, policies, and industry regulations.
  • HSE Compliance: Comprehensive understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations and the ability to ensure strict adherence in all production activities.
  • Production Optimization- Experience in production surveillance, troubleshooting and optimization of well and field performance
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate critical operating parameters through data and trend analysis
