Job Accountabilities

1. To prepare Mechanical Data Sheets (MDS) for the assigned packages.
2. To select the appropriate materials of construction, based on Process Datasheets (PDS).
3. To prepare Technical Specifications , Scope of Work documents.
4. To prepare Material Requisitions (MRs) for Quotation and for Purchase.
5. To review the technical offers from bidders, and to prepare technical queries.
6. To prepare Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE) reports.
7. To review vendors’ calculations and drawings (VDR).
8. To interact with other departments and project/client, for Inter-Departmental Checking comments on MDS and Techspecs,TBEs, and Vendor documents.
9. To prepare other engineering documents like, Information Requests, Engineering Clearances, etc.

Skills Required (Knowledge and Skills):

1. Knowledge and understanding of Applied Mechanics, Strength of Materials, Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Engineering Metallurgy, Engineering Drawing, Fabrication Technology.
2. Knowledge of codes like, API610, API675, API673, API560, API530, API535, ASME Sec VIII Div1., ASME B73.1, etc.
3. Brief idea of common types of instruments, and their application, pipe classes and materials.
4. Brief idea of electric drives, single line diagrams, and electrical requirements for packages.
5. Knowledge of engineering standard specifications, and standard designs.
6. Knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint.
7. Should possess good written and verbal communication skills.

Key Attributes:

Qualifications-Degree in Mechanical engineering from accredited college or university.

Experience- 2 years minimum experience in equipment manufacturing companies or Engineering Consulting companies or Chemical plants.
