Job Accountabilities

1. To carry out engineering calculations, by using software, as well as manually, of static equipment;
2. To select the appropriate materials of construction, based on Process Datasheets (PDS);
3. To prepare input to designers for preparation of Mechanical Datasheets (MDS);
4. To check the Mechanical Datasheets (MDS) prepared by designers;
5. To prepare Material Requisitions (MRs) for Quotation and for Purchase;
6. To review the technical offers from bidders, and to prepare technical queries;
7. To prepare Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE) reports;
8. To review vendors’ calculations and drawings (VDR);
9. To keep track of Inter-Departmental Checking comments from other engineering departments
10. To prepare other engineering documents like, Insulation MTO, Schedule of Quantities for Erection, Information Requests, Engineering Clearances, etc.

Skills Required (Knowledge and Skills):

1. Knowledge and understanding of Applied Mechanics, Strength of Materials, Engineering Metallurgy, Engineering Drawing, Fabrication Technology;
2. Knowledge of ASME Section VIII, Div1, TEMA, WRC 107/297, API620, API650, IS875, IS1893, etc. Knowledge of ASME Sec VIII. Div2 will be an added advantage;
3. Knowledge of engineering standard specifications, and standard designs;
4. Knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint. Knowledge of AutoCAD / Micro Station will be an added advantage;
5. Should possess good written and verbal communication skills.

Key Attributes :

Qualifications - Degree in Mechanical engineering from accredited college or university;

Experience-Minimum experience of 3 year in equipment manufacturing companies or Engineering Consulting companies or Chemical plants;
