SECTION II: PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
To effectively execute, and maintain landscaping and green spaces in order to create aesthetically pleasing and sustainable outdoor environments that enhance organization's brand image, contribute to the wellbeing of occupants under the guidance of Team Member within the limits of RIL's processes, policies & budgets
SECTION III: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE ROLE
Responsibilities
Policies, Processes & Procedures
- Support the Team Member Horticulture in planting activities, preparing soil, and placing plants according to the layout
- Provide support in cleaning and organizing gardening tools after use
- Observe and report any unusual plant conditions or signs of stress to the Team Member Horticulture
- Provide support in tidying up garden areas, removing debris, and maintaining a neat appearance
- Ensure proper maintenance and inventory management of horticultural equipment and supplies under the guidance of Team Member
Landscaping Design & Irrigation Systems
- Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of landscaping features, ensuring cleanliness, orderliness, and aesthetics
- Identify common pests and diseases under the guidance of the Team Member Horticulture
- Manage specialized verticals like Organic Farming, Agro Forestry, Mango Plantation, and Fruit Orchards, ensuring proper irrigation and management under the guidance of Team Member
- Assist in conducting comprehensive site assessments to evaluate the existing landscape conditions, soil quality, drainage, sun exposure, and other environmental factors
- Assist in the creation of hand sketches and conceptual designs to visualize and communicate horticultural ideas, plant layouts, and landscape compositions
- Monitor the flowering process, identifying factors that influence flowering, and implementing appropriate management practices to enhance flower production
Horticulture Operations
- Help in watering plants and monitoring soil moisture levels as directed by the Team Member Horticulture
- Assist in weeding and removing unwanted vegetation from garden beds and landscaped areas
- Aid in spreading mulch around plants to conserve moisture and suppress weed growth
- Assist in basic pruning tasks, such as removing dead or damaged branches under supervision
- Assist in the application of fertilizers and soil amendments as directed
Health, Safety & Documentation
- Maintain records of horticultural activities, prepare reports, and document plant health and landscape improvements
- Adhere to safety guidelines and instructions provided by the Team Member Horticulture
- Monitor compliance with safety regulations and address any safety violations promptly and effectively under the guidance of the Team Member
- Provide detailed handover documentation, including landscape plans, plant schedules, and maintenance instructions, to relevant teams

SECTION VI: KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCIES
Education Qualifications
Bachelor's degree (BSc) in Horticulture, Forestry, or Agriculture or a closely related field; M. Sc in Agriculture/Horticulture or closely related field with preferred specialisation Landscaping & Floriculture.
Experience (Must Have & Good to Have)
5 to 6 years of relevant experience in horticulture, landscaping, or facility management
Functional / Behavioral competencies required to execute the role
