Job Title: Technician (Electrical Substation)

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Technician for our Electrical Substation operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, inspection, and repair of electrical equipment and systems within the substation. This role requires a thorough understanding of electrical systems, safety protocols, and troubleshooting techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on electrical equipment and systems in the substation.
• Identify and rectify issues in transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, and other substation equipment.
• Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure the reliability and efficiency of electrical systems.
• Diagnose electrical faults and perform repairs on substation equipment.
• Utilize electrical testing instruments and tools to identify issues.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve complex electrical problems.
• Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Comply with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
• Participate in safety training sessions and stay updated with safety practices.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and repairs.
• Prepare reports on equipment performance and maintenance activities.
• Update documentation related to electrical systems and equipment.
• Respond to electrical emergencies and outages promptly.
• Perform corrective actions to restore power and ensure the safety of the substation.
• Suggest improvements to maintenance processes and procedures.
• Stay informed about the latest advancements in electrical technology and best practices.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or ITI in Electrical or a related field.
• Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in electrical maintenance and repair, preferably in a substation environment.

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and safety standards.
• Proficiency in using electrical testing instruments and tools.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and schematics.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications in electrical maintenance and safety are preferred.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to work in physically demanding environments and handle heavy equipment.

Working Conditions:

• May be required to work in various weather conditions.
• Must be available for on-call duties and respond to emergencies as needed.
• May need to work in high-voltage environments.
