Job description for Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Officer - Electrical
EHS Officer will be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures, and regulations related to electrical systems and equipment. This role focuses on preventing accidents, promoting a safe working environment, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to electrical safety.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections of electrical systems and equipment.
- Develop and implement electrical safety policies and procedures.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential electrical hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Perform risk assessments and provide recommendations to mitigate risks.
- Investigate incidents and near-misses involving electrical systems.
- Training and Education:
- Conduct safety training sessions for employees on electrical safety protocols.
- Develop educational materials and programs to enhance safety awareness.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and regulations to provide relevant training.
- Emergency Response:
- Develop and implement emergency response plans for electrical incidents.
- Coordinate with emergency services and ensure proper reporting of incidents.
- Lead and participate in emergency drills and simulations.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of safety audits, inspections, and incident reports.
- Prepare and submit required safety reports to regulatory agencies.
- Track and report on key safety performance indicators (KPIs).
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for improving electrical safety practices.
- Collaborate with other departments to enhance overall safety culture.
- Participate in EHS committee meetings and contribute to safety initiatives.
- Working Conditions:
- Regular exposure to a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Occasional exposure to hazardous conditions requiring safety protocols.
- Ability to work on-site and travel as necessary.
- Designation: Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Officer - Electrical
- Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- Certifications: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Electrical Safety Compliance Professional (CESCP), or equivalent.
- In-depth understanding of electrical safety standards (e.g., NFPA 70E, OSHA regulations).
- Salary Package (Monthly Gross): Between 15K to 25K (Depends on the interview round)
- Job Location: Pan India
- Fresher/Experience: Experience 1-3 Yrs
