Managing the disaster risk reduction team and carrying out disaster risk assessment and ensuring management with stakeholders
Roles & Responsibility and Outcomes (KPI)
Roles & Responsibility
- Plan and Preparedness - Contingency Plan – Disaster
- Disaster Management related IEC materials
- Build capacities of NGOs, CBOs, Youths and other key stakeholders on Disaster preparedness / Disaster Mitigation
- Carry out disaster risk assessment – Hazard Risk Vulnerability Assessment (HRVA) in disaster hotspots
- Develop plan for reducing the damage caused by natural hazards such as floods, droughts and cyclones
- Identify vulnerable location and mobilise community in very high and high climate vulnerable districts for programme intervention
- Conduct trainings for community / stakeholder in Disaster preparedness / Disaster Mitigation
- Coordination with grassroots / community stakeholders for effective implementation of the standard operating procedures based disaster preparedness / disaster mitigation
- Conduct capacity building for selected individuals (volunteers) in the areas of Disaster Risk Management

- ISO 9001-2015 Certification
- Web based knowledge repository – Disaster Management
- Volunteer base available for Disaster Response
- Disaster Risk Reduction / Mitigation and Disaster Response Plan available for 12 Districts
- GIS based maps available for disaster risk reduction, mitigation and disaster response operations
- Increased use of climate resilient practices and disaster tolerant technologies
- % of vulnerable individuals’ livelihood loss reduced
- Build the partnerships with various stakeholders for effective implementation of Disaster Risk Reduction
Key Stakeholders/ Collaborators
NGOs, CBOs, Youths
Experience & Educational Requirements
Necessary:
- Graduation / Post Graduation in Climate Change / Environmental Science / Natural Resource Management / Disaster Management
- Minimum 2 years of experience in working with Disaster Management Sector
Other Requirements:
- Experience of working in both emergencies and developmental context
- Fair knowledge on development of community based Disaster Risk Reduction / Mitigation plan
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
- Exposure to community mobilization and social development linked to disaster health preparedness programs
- Experience in training and use of participatory methodologies
- Experience in conduct base line survey and Hazard Risk Vulnerability Assessment (HRVA) in disaster hotspots
- Fluency in English, report preparation and presentation skills are essential
- Experience in connect communities and emergency support providers
