Job Purpose

RF’s Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) programme aims to improve quality of ECCE for 3-6 year old children, especially in Anganwadi centres. ECCE is one of the newest strategic initiatives of the Foundation, and as part of the newly established ECCE team, all team members will play a key role in establishing, strengthening and expanding the programme across multiple states.

Programme Associates will work closely with Leads and the Head-ECCE to design and deliver key initiatives, and while focused on a specific role (operations / reporting / partnerships) with specific responsibilities and KPIs, they are expected to multi-task and support as per programme priorities.


a) Operations - Primarily responsible for all operational support for smooth functioning of the programme

b) Reporting - Primarily responsible for tracking and reporting programme activities, outputs and outcomes

c) Partnerships - Primarily responsible for partner management and coordination

a) Operations

  • Maintain project management tracker for key initiatives, identify gaps in delivery and highlight to Lead and State Programme Manager
  • Coordinate with State team and field implementation partner to resolve operational issues
  • Coordinate with state team, partner(s) and Finance team on issues related to procurement and vendor payment processes, and ensure timely implementation.
  • Compliance: Tracking outputs delivered by partners and corresponding financial expenditure

Indicative; to be finalized with team member as per annual operational plan


b) Reporting

  • Maintain MIS for all programme activities, outputs and outcomes
  • MIS: Timely and accurate reporting, as per agreed periodicity and timelines
  • Coordinate with state teams, field implementation partners and M&E teams to ensure timely and accurate reporting
  • Identify common issues, trends across states and outliers, and highlight to Leads
  • Partner engagement: Timely and accurate documentation


c) Partnerships

  • Support lead to prepare presentations, notes for partnership discussions
  • Coordinate with partners, state teams and other internal stakeholders to ensure partnership documents (MoUs, reports) are prepared on time
  • Provide feedback on reports and budget variance analysis.
  • Document partnership discussions and follow-up for action points


For all associates

Programme design (10%)

  • Provide inputs on key initiatives, by identifying best practices, research for new ideas, technology etc.

Documentation and analysis (20%)

  • Support Head and Leads in preparation of annual work plans, budgets, financial projections, programme updates, presentations etc.

Field coordination (20%)

  • Visit the field regularly to assess quality of implementation, provide inputs for improvement and support programme activities

Other activities (10%)

  • Plan and organize events, workshops and project visits for internal or external groups, as required
  • Any other responsibilities, as per programme and organizational requirements, as assigned by line manager

Necessary:

  • Post Graduate Degree in education / social work / social science / rural management / any relevant field

Desirable:

  • Qualification in Education, Early Childhood Development or related fields


Necessary For all

  • 2-5 years of relevant work experience
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of Hindi may be an advantage
  • Excellent documentation, analysis and presentation skills. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required.
  • Demonstrates high levels of empathy, understanding challenges of stakeholders, listening actively and working in a participatory manner.
  • Demonstrates creativity in her/his work, responding flexibly to a changing field situation and devising innovative ways of solving challenges.

(a) Operations - Working knowledge of project management tools, Gantt charts etc.

(b) Reporting - Working knowledge of R / Stata / SPSS

(c) Partnerships - Working knowledge of Tableau and other presentation tools


Desirable

  • Experience of working with Government primary schools, Anganwadi centres
  • Proficiency (spoken, reading) in other languages like Marathi, Gujarati, Telugu, Urdu
