Job Purpose

RF’s Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) programme aims to improve quality of ECCE for 3-6 year old children, especially in Anganwadi centres. ECCE is one of the newest strategic initiatives of the Foundation, and as part of the newly established ECCE team, all team members will play a key role in establishing, strengthening and expanding the programme across multiple states.

Key role of Lead Project Management (Technical) will be to oversee all technical aspects of the programme, design new initiatives based on stakeholder needs, and ensure quality of programme implementation.


Roles & Responsibility and Outcomes (KPI)


  • Capacity building of team, partner staff and Anganwadi related stakeholders (Anganwadi Workers, Supervisors) on ECCE and other programme aspects
  • Design of technology initiatives and coordination with different stakeholders (tech agencies, designers, Govt. officials, Anganwadis, implementation partners) for the same
  • Development of the Anganwadi Learning Lab concept - i.e. ideating and then demonstrating how the model will work, documentation and scale up of grassroots innovations
  • Monitoring and Evaluation - Overseeing the M&E aspects (led by M&E team and we will also have an external agency) - here, the expectation is that lead should have good understanding of evaluation and child assessments, so that they are also able to provide technical inputs and review the work of external agency.

Outcomes (KPIs)

  • Planning: Implementation plans, budgets, project management trackers etc. designed with inputs from partners and other Leads, aligned with ECCE strategy
  • Review: Periodic review of project implementation and timely reporting of results
  • Compliance: Tracking outputs delivered by partners and corresponding financial expenditure

Experience & Educational Requirements


Necessary:

  • Post Graduate in education / social work / social science / rural management or any relevant field
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience, with a track record of managing complex programmes and leading operations.

Desirable:

  • Qualification in Early Childhood Development / Engineering / Computer Science / IT / ITES
  • Having experience with working in large scale programmes, especially with Anganwadis or Govt. primary schools, will be an added advantage.
  • Lead needs to have excellent facilitation skills and should be able to present complex ideas crisply.
  • Understanding of design thinking / human centred design techniques will an added advantage, especially when it relates to design of new initiatives and innovations.
  • Should have good understanding of technology, especially when it is related to training

Necessary

  • Experience of managing large programmes in education and/or ECCE
  • Proficiency in English; working knowledge of Hindi will be an advantage
  • Excellent project management and coordination skills. Ability to manage processes and activities in a result-oriented manner and work effectively to tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication, analysis and presentation skills. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint is essential
  • Conversant with new technology, especially in education
  • Demonstrates creativity in her/his work, responding flexibly to a changing field situation and devising innovative ways of solving challenges.
  • Self-starter who takes ownership and responsibility for her/his projects.
  • Demonstrates high levels of empathy, listening actively and working in a participatory manner.
  • Excellent interpersonal and team skills, with leadership abilities

Desirable

  • Experience of managing projects to develop technology solutions for the development sector, or to develop smart Anganwadis / schools
  • Experience of working with Women and Child Development (WCD) and/or Education departments
  • Understanding of Project Management software and tools
  • Understanding of Human Centred Design methods
