Job Purpose

The Transport Relationship Manager (TRM) will oversee and manage all transportation logistics within the coal industry. The TRM will coordinate vendor services, negotiate transportation rates, analyse market conditions, and ensure all transportation processes are efficient and compliant. The role requires leadership in mentoring the Assistant TRMs and supporting the company’s sales team to achieve business objectives.

Job Duties

• Oversee transportation logistics and ensure timely coal shipments.
• Engage with vendors, negotiate rates, and establish strong working relationships.
• Authorise and review transportation documentation to maintain industry compliance.
• Monitor and analyse market price trends to optimise transportation costs.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to Assistant TRMs, enhancing their performance.
• Attend meetings and collaborate with the sales team to strategise transportation.
• Utilise transportation and logistics software tools to enhance operational efficiency.

Required Qualifications

Knowledge

• Solid understanding of transportation and logistics operations.
• Firm grasp of market price analysis within the coal industry.
• Knowledge of documentation processes and industry regulations.

Skills

• Excellent negotiation and communication abilities.
• Proficient in Google Suite, transportation, and logistics management software.
• Strong organisational skills and multitasking capabilities.
• Ability to lead a team and provide mentoring effectively.
