Job Title: Business Head - 3PL/FTL

Hours: Full-time

Location: Surat, Gujarat


Job Purpose

The Business Head will oversee the long-term vision and growth strategies and lead and support day-to-day operations. The role includes designing and implementing policies to promote the company's culture and vision and ensuring business operations stay on track.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning

  • Lead senior management in developing and implementing company strategies.
  • Develop and monitor the annual budget, allocate resources, and ensure operational targets are met.
  • Achieve strategic business orientation, increase market share, and ensure overall profitability.
  • Assess company performance, conduct business gap analysis, and mitigate risks.
  • Utilise technology for efficiency, cost management, and track and trace operations.
  • Strengthen SOPs and ensure compliance with company-wide policies.

Sales and Marketing

  • Develop action plans to achieve sales volumes and monitor sales department performance.
  • Ensure timely submission of tenders and generate business from critical projects.
  • Focus on client acquisition, onboarding, and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Maximise sales profit and meet or exceed sales targets.

Operations

  • Oversee daily management and operations, including technical support for clearing, forwarding, and related procedures.
  • Ensure operational expenditures are within the authorised budget.
  • Develop operational strategies by studying industry best practices and producing advisory reports.
  • Manage relationships with subcontractors, partners, suppliers, and industry leaders.

Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE)

  • Deliver operational certifications (e.g., ISO) and manage a fully integrated QMS.
  • Ensure the company maintains high standards in QHSE practices.

HR Management

  • Lead the HR team and develop a performance management culture.
  • Train and develop representatives and bring on new business.


Knowledge

  • Knowledge of operational strategies, procurement, inventory, and transportation systems.
  • Proficiency in logistics tools and techniques.

  • Additional: Proven experience in a senior managerial position, strong understanding of corporate finance, and familiarity with diverse business functions.


Experience Requirements

  • Proven experience as a CEO or in another managerial position.
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles.
  • Experience in developing and implementing profitable strategies.
  • Familiarity with the Indian logistics landscape and multimodal freight management.
  • Knowledge of freight brokerage, trucking, and non-asset brokerage operations.


Travel Requirements: As Needed: The candidate may be required to travel based on business needs.
