Position: Tool Room Manager

Job Description:

Tool Inventory Management: Maintain a comprehensive inventory of tools, equipment, and spare parts. Ensure the availability and functionality of tools required for production and maintenance.

Tool Procurement: Source and purchase tools and equipment as needed, considering cost-effectiveness and quality. Evaluate suppliers and negotiate contracts when necessary.

Tool Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and repair of tools to prolong their lifespan and ensure safe usage. Schedule and coordinate routine maintenance activities.

Supervision: Lead a team of tool room technicians and staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations. Delegate tasks and ensure the team's efficiency.

Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and guidelines within the tool room to prevent accidents and injuries. Ensure that staff follows safety procedures when handling tools and equipment.

Inventory Control: Monitor tool usage, track stock levels, and reorder supplies as needed to prevent shortages or overstock situations. Implement an organized inventory control system.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of tool inventory, maintenance activities, and procurement. Prepare reports and document any issues or incidents.

Budget Management: Manage the tool room budget, control expenses, and seek cost-saving opportunities without compromising the quality and availability of tools.

Collaboration: Coordinate with various departments, such as production, maintenance, and engineering, to meet their tool requirements and address any concerns or issues promptly.

Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve tool room operations, streamline processes, and enhance efficiency.

Quality Assurance: Ensure that all tools and equipment meet quality standards and adhere to relevant regulations and industry standards.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.

Proven experience in tool room management or related roles.

Strong organizational and leadership skills.

Knowledge of tool maintenance and safety procedures.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in inventory management and record-keeping.

Budget management experience is a plus.
