**Job Title: South Indian Cook**


**Job Overview:**

We are seeking an experienced and skilled South Indian Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of South Indian cuisine, traditional cooking techniques, and the ability to create authentic and flavorful dishes. The South Indian Cook will play a key role in maintaining the high culinary standards of our establishment.


**Responsibilities:**


1. **Menu Planning:**

  - Collaborate with the head chef or management to plan and develop a menu that reflects authentic South Indian flavors and caters to customer preferences.


2. **Food Preparation:**

  - Prepare a variety of South Indian dishes, including dosas, idlis, vadas, sambar, rasam, curries, and chutneys, while maintaining consistency and high-quality standards.


3. **Masala Preparation:**

  - Create and use traditional spice blends and masalas to enhance the flavor of dishes.


4. **Rice and Tiffin Items:**

  - Expertise in cooking different types of rice and preparing tiffin items like pongal, uttapam, and others.


5. **Gravies and Curries:**

  - Skillfully prepare gravies, curries, and kuzhambu with a focus on taste, texture, and presentation.


6. **Chutney Making:**

  - Prepare a variety of chutneys to complement main dishes, ensuring a balance of flavors.


7. **Vegetarian and Vegan Cooking:**

  - Cater to vegetarian and vegan preferences with a diverse range of flavorful and satisfying dishes.


8. **Hygiene and Safety:**

  - Adhere to strict hygiene and food safety standards, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.


9. **Adaptability:**

  - Adapt recipes to accommodate regional variations and customer preferences without compromising authenticity.


10. **Quality Control:**

  - Conduct regular quality checks on ingredients and finished dishes to ensure consistency and adherence to standards.


11. **Collaboration:**

  - Work collaboratively with kitchen staff to ensure efficient operations and timely service.


**Qualifications:**


1. Proven experience as a South Indian Cook or similar role.

2. Deep knowledge of South Indian culinary traditions and flavors.

3. Proficient in preparing a variety of South Indian dishes.

4. Strong understanding of traditional spice blends and masalas.

5. Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

6. Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

7. Certification in culinary arts or relevant field is a plus.

8. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines.
