Role Overview:
As a Business Development Internship in Government Contracts, you will be responsible for driving new business opportunities and managing relationships within the US government contracting space. Your expertise in the US government contracting process and deep understanding of the State, Local, and Education (SLED) ecosystem will be crucial in achieving our strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities :
Strategy Development : Develop and implement strategic business development plans focused on securing and expanding opportunities within the US government contracting sector, specifically targeting SLED markets.
Government Contracting Expertise : Leverage your comprehensive knowledge of the US government contracting process to navigate procurement procedures, manage RFPs, and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
Market Insights : Conduct detailed market research to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and key stakeholders within the US SLED ecosystem. Provide actionable insights to drive strategic decision-making.
Client Engagement : Build and nurture relationships with government officials, procurement officers, and other key decision-makers. Ensure high levels of client satisfaction and establish long-term partnerships.
Proposal Management : Oversee the preparation and submission of competitive proposals and bids. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accuracy, alignment with client needs, and adherence to deadlines.
Networking : Represent firm at industry conferences, seminars, and networking events. Enhance the company's presence and reputation within the government contracting community.
Performance Tracking : Monitor business development activities, track performance metrics, and prepare regular reports for senior management. Adjust strategies based on performance data and market feedback.
Qualifications :
Experience : Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development within the US government contracting sector, with a focus on the SLED market.
Education : MBA in Marketing or a related field; or an equivalent degree with relevant professional experience.
Knowledge : Extensive understanding of the US government contracting process, including procurement, compliance, and proposal development.
- Deep knowledge of the US SLED ecosystem is essential.
Skills :
- Strong strategic and analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proven track record in building and maintaining relationships with government clients and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in conducting market research and competitive analysis.
